OXFORD, Miss. — Lane Kiffin added another signature victory to his Ole Miss résumé Saturday night as the No. 13 Rebels upset No. 4 LSU, 24–19, inside a raucous Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The win marked Ole Miss’ first triumph over a top-five LSU team since 1965 and solidified the Rebels as a legitimate SEC contender heading into their bye week.

Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss continued his breakout season with another composed and efficient performance, leading the Rebels to three touchdown drives of 69 yards or longer. Meanwhile, the Ole Miss defense dictated the tone, frustrating LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and keeping the Tigers’ offense from ever finding rhythm.

LSU (4–1, 1–1 SEC) entered the matchup allowing only four touchdowns all season but surrendered three in one night, along with an 80-yard drive that ended in an Ole Miss field goal. Despite two costly turnovers and a staggering 14 penalties for 109 yards, the Rebels (5–0, 3–0 SEC) controlled much of the game after falling behind 7–0 early.

The Tigers’ rushing woes continued without injured starter Caden Durham, and the offense sputtered even more when star receiver Aaron Anderson exited with an injury. LSU mustered just 254 total yards and converted only 2 of 11 third downs.

With the victory, Ole Miss heads into its bye week undefeated and surging — while LSU is left searching for answers after its first setback of the season.
