Darius Moses, owner of Duke's Seafood on Columbia St., will take the helm as the Krewe of Musa's President. His passion for community involvement and strong leadership skills make him a natural choice to lead the charge in organizing this highly-anticipated parade.

Jennifer Carlson-McCreary has been selected as the Vice President, bringing invaluable experience from her time with different Mardi Gras krewes on the south shore. Her extensive background in event planning and festive celebrations will undoubtedly elevate the Krewe's festivities to new heights.

Nancy Rowell, a seasoned veteran in the Mardi Gras world, takes up the role of Secretary. As the founder of two MCCA krewes, her organizational expertise and keen eye for detail will ensure seamless coordination throughout the Krewe's preparations.

Cynthia August, a financial maven, assumes the role of Treasurer. With over four decades of experience as a payroll manager for both Bogalusa City Schools and the Washington Parish School System, Cynthia's financial acumen will provide a solid foundation for the Krewe's fiscal endeavors. August also serves as the treasurer of the Washington Parish Tourism Commission.

As financial austerity takes center stage, Roniqua Watkins was elected Financial Secretary. Roniqua's dedication to ensuring sound financial management aligns perfectly with the Krewe's commitment to responsible fiscal stewardship.

Amid the flurry of excitement surrounding the executive board appointments, the Krewe of Musa also announced the parade's grand rollout, set to dazzle the streets on February 10, 2024, at 7 pm. This inaugural night parade promises to be a spectacular celebration of Mardi Gras spirit, illuminating the city with vibrant floats, marching bands, and captivating performances.

In their quest to create a parade to remember, the Krewe of Musa aspires to unite 300 enthusiastic members in their procession. Embracing inclusivity, the Krewe encourages the public to join their ranks, with by-laws to be unveiled shortly.

The Krewe of Musa's debut promises to be an extraordinary celebration of Bogalusa's vibrant culture and community spirit. As the parade date approaches, the city eagerly anticipates a thrilling display of Mardi Gras splendor like never before. "I am elated that we were able to get this effort off of the ground. A night parade will bring more tourists to our city and I am confident in this executive board's ability to get the job done. The City and the Bogalusa Police Department will do everything in our power to continue to keep the citizens safe during large gatherings. We look forward to Musa's vision coming to life on the streets of the Magic City!", stated Mayor Tyrin Truong.
