Bogalusa Defeats Franklinton, 5 Straight Wins vs. Demons

FRANKLINTON, Louisiana - The Pine Burr Trophy is staying in Bogalusa after the Jacks defeated the Franklinton Demons, 36-31.


Bogalusa quarterback, Ashton Levi. threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed for 169 yards on 17 carries and 2 touchdowns. 432 all-purpose yards and 5 touchdowns is another special night for Levi to add to his resume.


His favorite target for the evening was Desmond Ramirez who finished the game with 3 catches for 139 yards and one touchdown. Ramirez also sealed the game with a late interception with under one-minute to play in the contest.


The Jacks began the game starting off with a failed onside kick due to an offside penalty but the defense was able to get a crucial stop to turn the ball over on downs. Bogalusa led at the end of the first quarter, 6-0.


Franklinton drove down the field to get points on the board in the second quarter and the Jacks responded with another touchdown and a successful two-point conversion. The Jacks led at halftime, 14-7.

Frankinton took their first lead of the game midway through the third quarter leading, 15-14. Bogalusa responded and led 22-15 heading into the 4th quarter.


The 4th quarter was a shootout with four total touchdowns scored. Franklinton scored late and cut the lead down to one possession, The Demons failed on a onside kick attempt giving the Jacks the ball with less than two minutes remaining. After failing to convert on a 4th down, Franklinton had posession of the ball on the final drive.


The game was sealed when Desmond Ramirez intercepted a pass and the Lumberjacks ended the game in victory formation. The Lumberjacks are 5-0 against Franklinton since 2018.


Bogalusa will travel to Slidell on Thursday, September 7, and will face-off against the Slidell Tigers.
