COLUMBIA, South Carolina - South Carolina's offense came out hot driving, straight down the field. They capped off their first drive with a 4 yd touchdown run from quarter back, Lanoris Sellers.

LSU's offense struggled to find any sense of chemistry early on and found themselves down 17 points after another touchdown drive by the Gamecocks. This time ending in a 10 yard TD run by running back, Raheem Sanders.

Brian Kelly was asked about the grit this LSU team displayed after trailing by double digits. He responded, "So proud...They are not going to give up! It's not in their DNA."

Kelly's LSU Tigers began to string together a couple scoring drives in the 2nd quarter. The first TD was scored by freshman running back , Caden Durham on a 26 yard scamper.

Durham was a huge piece in the LSU offense as he rushed for 98 yards on 11 carries.

The Tigers added a field goal, but South Carolina struck again on a dynamic 75 yard TD run,  by the qb Lanoris Sellers.

This didn't deter the Tigers as they responded with a 12 yard pitch and catch TD from Tiger's qb Garrett Nussmeier to standout wr, Kyren Lacy.

LSU opened the scoring in the 3rd quarter with a 9-yard TD run by Durham. However, after a couple of failed 2-point conversion attempts,  the Tigers were down 2 points, with score 24-22.

After the Gamecocks starting qb went out with an ankle injury, LSU established a more dominant approach on defense, holding their opponent to 10 points in the 2nd half.

LSU'S offense took over as the they scored 3 TDs that included a 2 yard toss to TE Mason Taylor, and a game winning 2 yard TD run by Josh Williams.

The Gamecocks attempted a 49 yard game-tying fg that was no good at the buzzer.

Nussmeier was asked about LSU's performance and a critical interception that he had thrown late in the 4th quarter.  Nussmeier said, "You want me to worry about the interception with three minutes, 45 seconds left trying to win the game?” He went on to say, " Let's flush it and go win the game."

Tigers prevailed in a wild SEC opener, 36-33. LSU's next opportunity will be against the UCLA Bruins at Tiger Stadium next Saturday.
