BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - The LSU Tigers (1-1) will travel to Starkville, Mississippi to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs (2-0) in an SEC West battle. With both teams coming off of wins, LSU over Grambling State and Mississippi State over Arizona, it will be interesting to see if either team can carry the momentum into Saturday.

LSU quarterback, Jayden Daniels, took some heavy criticism after the loss to the Florida State Seminoles in the opener. However, he dazzled against Grambling State with 5 touchdown passes and looks to continue his solid play into SEC competition this weekend.

The Tigers are also happy to welcome back John Emery, their explosive running back, to the starting lineup. When asked, LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly raved on Emery's mental and physical growth throughout this passed year. He stated that Emery is "in a much better place" and there is really "no comparison to the John Emery of last year to the John Emery this year"

Needless to say, LSU is getting a much needed boost in the backfield. Last season, Emery rushed for 375 yards and 6 Touchdowns.

The Tigers looks to take a sense of urgency into this game against the undefeated Bulldogs.

The SEC Showdown will take place in an early start, Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 AM.
