ORLANDO, Florida – No. 8 Florida State took advantage of a second-half meltdown by LSU on Sunday night defeating the Tigers, 45-24.

Florida State quarterback, Jordan Travis, threw for 342 yards and four touchdowns along with one on the ground. Travis’ favorite target this evening was Louisiana-native, Keon Coleman, who accounted for three of those touchdowns with nine receptions for 122 yards.

Johnny Wilson added seven more receptions for the “Noles” with 104 yards.

For the Tigers, Jayden Daniels felt the pressure of the Seminole defense early but still managed to throw for 347 yards and one touchdown with a 141.8 quarterback rating completing 59% of his passes. Daniels wasn’t nearly as effective for the Tigers as we didn’t see the preseason Heisman candidate.

Although at a neutral site, Camping World Stadium was 80% garnet and gold with many Florida State fans taking the four-hour drive to Orlando.

Florida State’s defense made two big stops on fourth down in the first half which played a major role in the Seminoles staying in the game and only trailing by three at the half. Two drives deep into Florida State territory and both ended in zero points for LSU.

The Tiger's defense allowed 483 yards and couldn’t stop Florida State on third down with the Seminoles converting on 8 of 13 conversions.

A tough defensive outing for the Tigers as they allowed 483 yards and was and inefffective converting on third down allowing Florida State to keep drives alive 62% of the time.

The Tigers are sure to drop several spots in the rankings after the blow-out loss on Sunday night.

Next week, LSU will host Grambling State University as the Tigers will host an in-state FCS school for the home opener for the second straight season.
