BOGALUSA, Louisiana - Desmond Ramirez Jr. was awarded "Player of the Week" by the Bogalusa Sports Network after an amazing game against the Franklinton Demons Friday night.
Ramirez had 3 catches for 139 yards, 1 touchdown and even the game sealing interception with less than 1-minute remaining in the contest. "I was in so much pain, but I still ended up playing defense on the last drive," Ramirez said. "I was able to catch the pick on the first play of the drive to end the game."
Over the past two decades, not many classes can say they never lost to Franklinton. The class of 2023 last year and now the class of 2024 is added to that list. The Lumberjacks have won five-straight against the Demons since 2019. "My senior teammates are now 4-0 against Franklinton."
The Pine Burr trophy is sitting comfortably in the Main Office of Bogalusa High School for another year. "I was very happy for my team and community. I knew everyone was going to be happy and excited about the season after we won the game."
The Jacks will travel to St. Tammany Parish to face the Slidell Tigers in a Week 2 non-district match-up this Thursday, September 7.
