NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - The Caesars Superdome was electric Sunday as the New Orleans Saints opened their NFL season with a win against the Tennessee Titans. It was a back and forth defensive struggle as neither offense could get much going.

The Saints run game could only produce 2.8 yards per carry and Saints quarterback, Derek Carr, was under pressure from the Titan's defensive line all game. Both teams' offenses combined for five field goals in the first half, as no one found the end zone.

Luckily, the only touchdown of the game, came in the third quarter on a 5-play drive that ended in a 19-yard touchdown pass from the Carr to wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

The New Orleans Saints defense took over as they held the Titans offense and quarterback Ryan Tannehill to 17% on 3rd down conversions. The Saints defense did not allow Titans running back Derrick Henry to take over the game as he only rushed for 63 yards. You can thank linebacker Demario Davis for that gift.

Davis was all over Henry as he made everything tough sledding for the Titans running back. Davis recorded a game high ten tackles. The Saints secondary also had three interceptions winning the turnover margin. It was a very impressive outing for the Saints defense.

Although this game wasn't an amazing display of offense and big yardage plays, an ugly win is always better than a pretty loss.

Next up, Monday Night Football on the road as the Saints (1-0) take on division rival Carolina Panthers (0-1).
